Rancho Bernardo is a wonderful family community in Inland San Diego and is neighbored by Carmel Mountain Ranch, Poway, and Escondido. Rancho Bernardo is served by the Poway Unified School District, including the popular Rancho Bernardo High School, which offers students exceptional, award-winning educations.
Each year, Rancho Bernardo residents look forward to RB Alive! Street Expo and Fair, a large festival that features music, art, rides, community booths, and many delicious food options. This event, drawing more than 60,000 visitors, unifies and celebrates the wonderful Rancho Bernardo community.
Many Rancho Bernardo residents enjoy golfing at many different locations in the area, including Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Course, Rancho Bernardo Golf Course, Oaks North Golf Course, Maderas Golf Club, and Stoneridge Country Club. These clubs are frequented by community residents and out of towners alike. Further recreational opportunities for residents are found at recreational facilities and parks such as the grand and busy Rancho Bernardo Community Park.
Residents of the area have access to many shopping opportunities, but also commonly travel north to the city of Escondido for further choices. Via a quick jaunt on interstate I-15 and over the beautiful Lake Hodges, residents can access Escondido and its services. Lake Hodges itself is a popular recreational destination year-round for residents, especially during the summer. Also nearby Rancho Bernardo, residents will find the San Diego Wild Animal Park, part of the San Diego Zoo. This park offers visitors an exciting experience, as they can see wildlife from all over the globe in open recreations of their natural habitat, instead of in caged spaces.
